A long way off this, but I’m still very excited…

It was confirmed today that Brooklyn band the Antlers will be playing Cork’s Cyprus Avenue this coming November. On Friday the 18th, the band will bring their latest offering “Burst Apart” to the city – and it should be a spectacular show.

The band shot to fame with their cripplingly intimate release in 2009, “Hospice”, that detailed the relationship between a hospice worker and a dying cancer patient. Since then, the band have expanded in numbers and in sound and have redeveloped the stripped back sound of the album into an absorbing and full sound, one that appears in large numbers on their experimental new album.

Check out “Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out” below. It was the lead single from the new album and is just the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Antlers.

Tickets are priced at €14 and go on sale Friday from the Old Oak and Plugd.
